The modern game of golf originated in fifteenth century Scotland, and has since developed into a fun pastime for some, and serious sport for others. In Suffolk we are lucky to have a number of golf courses, so whether you’re a keen golfer or like to try you hand now and then there are lots of different places across the county you can play a spot of golf.
Cretingham Golf Club
Set in 165 acres of stunningly beautiful Suffolk countryside, Cretingham Golf Club is family run club that offers golfers a friendly, relaxed environment in which to enjoy the sport. The flat terrain will suit golfers of all abilities which makes the course one of the most player-friendly in the county. With an 18 hole course and driving range there is plenty to keep you occupied and golf coaching is also available. With events on throughout the year there is always something to get involved in as well. The green fees are reasonably priced, and buggy hire is also available. Now that the season’s have well and truly changed you can jump on the Winter Warmer offer from 1st November to 1st March – 18 holes with a coffee for £15 or 18 holes, coffee and Chefs Special for £20 so long as you book your tee time after 10am. Cretingham Golf Course is also close to The Cretingham Bell – so if you work up an appetite after a round or two, you don’t have to travel far for a delicious meal and local ales.
